At Forbes Capretto Homes, we know a company is only as good as the team that supports it. That’s why we consider ourselves lucky to have a spectacular team working hard to provide exceptional homes for our clients. A big member of that team is Bill Pearce, our drafter and designer at Forbes Capretto.
Bill has been working with us at Forbes Capretto Homes for 24 years. Before he made his way to our team, Bill studied architecture at Erie Community College and then the University of Buffalo. After college, Bill began working in the field of residential architecture, where he continued to grow and learn for 10 years prior to becoming part of the Forbes Capretto team. Throughout his career, Bill has been responsible for the construction documentation and visual aids required for the construction and sale of new homes for well over 3,500 homes!
“When I was in school at Depew High School, as soon as my mechanical or architectural drafting class started, my career search seemed to be over,” Bill said when asked what motivated him throughout his career. “It made me realize drafting and design could be something I could utilize to make a living. I’ve always heard, ‘Do something you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life’ and in my case, it’s been true.”
At Forbes Capretto Homes, a typical day for Bill includes producing any construction drawings required to get building permits to build our homes. He is also responsible for creating plans and renderings that our sales team uses to market and sell our homes.
At Forbes Capretto Homes, we all work as a team. No department runs on their own. For Bill, this is one of his favorite parts about working here. Bill realizes how hard it is to orchestrate a large group of people to come together and accomplish a task. His job puts him in the position to develop a concept for a home and then create the directions to complete the construction of it. This process brings together everyone on the Forbes Capretto team, and Bill plays an integral role in that system.
Bill admitted that it can sometimes be hard to keep a positive attitude during stressful days, but he always manages to stay motivated. For Bill, driving down a road and being able to look out the window and see a home he drew the plans for is the most rewarding part about his job.
Most of Bill’s free time goes toward taking care of and improving his home and property in Attica. When he isn’t working or spending time on his house, he likes to go camping with his wife and two children. Bill is also an avid archer hunter. He even has a 150-inch net score buck entered in the New York State Pope and Young record book!
