I started my career as a teenager when I earned my Realtor’s license. I loved seeing the joy in someone’s face when they saw what would become their new home.
During all the years of walking people through homes and hearing them say, “If only this had…”, I recognized their wish lists as opportunities, not obstacles. I didn’t merely ask what they wanted, but why it was important.
More than just matching people to available homes, I wanted to create the homes they really wanted.
Rescuing an orphan.
In 1990, I had the opportunity to buy and finish a home that was stalled early during construction with another builder. I took this “orphan” and finished it to what I believed a homebuyer would want. And the home sold quickly, becoming the first sale for Capretto Homes.
Knowing that many builders were skipping over details, excluding features that I knew would matter to a buyer, I decided to do something about it.
We build homes, not houses.
After helping hundreds of families achieve the dream of a new Capretto home, I purchased Forbes Homes in 2002 forming Forbes Capretto Homes. We now offered more choices for homebuyers, more locations, more communities, and more ways to have the home they truly wanted.
A house is a place where you live—a structure. A home is measured by the experience it gives you. It’s where you build lasting memories—of celebrations and
milestones—and where you go for comfort.
