A Forbes Capretto Homeowner Sequel

A Forbes Capretto Homes Sequel

Cheryl and Peter Steffan chose Forbes Capretto Homes to build their dream home in Elma, NY, in 1999. More than 20 years later, they were ready to right-size their life, with a smaller home now that their children were grown. Cheryl and Peter decided to build again, rather than buy an existing home. The Steffans chose a Forbes Capretto Homes sequel when they once again trusted the same builder with this important task.

After all these years, what made such a lasting impression on the homeowners? The Steffans remembered the experience when they built their Elma home. They recalled the quality of the home as well as the building experience. Although they had only good memories of their 1999 homebuilding, with the time that had passed, they thought they should look into options, just to make sure. “We were very happy with that house. When we decided to build a smaller home with a first-floor owner’s suite, we turned to Forbes Capretto to see what they had to offer.” Cheryl said they met with another builder, which was very eye-opening. “The quality of the home did not match what Forbes Capretto had to offer.” Scouting the location Having chosen the builder, the Steffans turned their attention to the various location options for their new construction home.

They liked Lancaster, where Forbes Capretto Homes was expanding their community, Hidden Meadow, into a new phase. The curb appeal throughout the neighborhood, the convenient location, and the peaceful nature of Lancaster came together as the right fit. “We like the subdivision because of the larger lot sizes with mature trees in the backyard, and how quiet the street is,” says Cheryl, a teacher. She also loves the location near shopping and dining choices. And they could both tell from their visits that Hidden Meadow would be a friendly, welcoming, community. Setting the stage with the right design

With the community checked off their list, the Steffans needed to choose a plan to fit their lifestyle. The Dayton plan had everything they were looking for, including a first-floor owner’s suite. They liked having the suite facing the backyard where they could enjoy the view. In addition to the spacious first-floor owner’s suite, the three-bedroom, two-story home includes a dedicated home office with an adjacent half-bath and closet. Cheryl likes the formal dining room off the foyer, the large kitchen with a center island that comfortably seats four people, and the laundry room next to the owner’s suite. Upstairs, two bedrooms each have a walk-in closet and share a full bath. “The size of the house is perfect for downsizing because it still gives us space to entertain and host out of town guests,” Cheryl explains. A great supporting cast Their previous building experience with Forbes Capretto Homes weighed heavily in the Steffans’ decision to return to the Western New York homebuilder. They had been impressed with the people who worked with them through every stage of the homebuilding process.

Twenty years later, some of the people have changed, but their stellar performances were equally praised by the Steffans this time around. “Our sales representative, Jessica, was fabulous to work with. Anytime we asked questions, she was able to clearly answer or, if necessary, she would reach out to the appropriate people and get back to us in a very timely manner. We never had to ask a question twice, because she was always organized, taking notes, and promptly following up. “Jessica is also a good listener. She would remember previous discussions about features of our home and make sure that they were being incorporated into the plans. She also assisted us by reaching out to personnel in the home office to make sure our selection process was moving forward. Most importantly, Jessica’s friendly personality made us feel comfortable during every meeting.”

With the design selection stage completed and the construction underway, the expanding cast of Forbes Capretto Homes’ characters involved in building the Steffans’ new home continued the high standard that Jessica had set. “The building phase was exciting,” Cheryl praises. “Frank, Gene, and Cody did a great job overseeing the building of our home. We did have many custom features, and they made sure that everything came together beautifully. We appreciate everything they did when managing the job.” A sequel with a happy ending The Steffans moved into their Hidden Meadow home in December 2021, and the satisfying experience continues. “We have gotten to know a few of our neighbors and everyone has been so nice. We can tell that we will be very happy here for years to come.” Another testament to the quality of this Forbes Capretto Homes home and community is when one homeowner’s praise encourages another person to move in. Cheryl’s mother is currently building The Mallory ranch-style floor plan in Hidden Meadow.
